ART FOR THE SOUL

The Russian Kitten

I travelled to Saint Petersburg, Russia.

And for any who have visited the city, you’ll know its mainly stone, bronze and very busy. Leaving my hotel for an early morning coffee, I noticed a hungry, scared and shivering kitten under a car, she was very young and thin. Immediately went into a local coffee shop, bought a tuna wrap which she devoured. I got her water and tried to engage her but every-time I got near, she ran back underneath the vehicle.

Frustrated the best I could do was sit on the sidewalk at a distance, making sure she was full and hours later, checked up on her. Spoke with the locals about an animal shelter to no avail, and so I thought maybe bring her back to my hotel and perhaps find a vet or shelter?

​

Trying again to extend myself and pull her out from beneath the car, lonely and scared she crawled deep under the vehicle. It was a wound felt in not being able to help this animal.

​

That night was really cold and in bed, my thoughts raced about this kitten. The next morning I went back to the area, she was gone. On the train to Moscow, I decided to get involved the best way one could. The experience set in motion this art page dedicated to selling my prints of artwork with 100% net proceeds towards helping all distressed animals.
